This is the Windrider 4400 Pack by Hyperlite Mountain Gear. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this pack and the folks that build them in Biddford Maine. Weighing in at 35oz with a capacity of 70 liters, it’s simple design and overall comfort are a great fit for my needs.
*After approximately 400 miles of training with this pack I noticed some chaffing on the shoulder straps where they anchor to the bottom of the pack. This was due to the way I had it configured and was no fault of the design. I mention this to give a testimonial to Hyperlite’s customer service which was outstanding. They repaired the straps and even altered my pack a bit in case I ever repeated the condition which lead to the problem in the first place. This work was done promptly and free of charge. After talking to several HMG employees about my pack the overwhelming impression I left with was that they care a great deal about the stuff they make. As a bonus, it’s made in the USA !
